WALLS BETWEEN US

 

With every mood you make,

With every step you take.

Don’t you feel you’re shutting me away.

 

You ask why I’m sleeping afar.

I come near when I’m awake.

Again outlying, when I’m fast asleep.

Maybe it’s just my subconscious wanting to be away.

 

For every time you spoke,

You added bricks to the wall,

Making it strong.

The wall becomes unshakable, unmoveable.

Stiff as a rock.

 

How am I supposed to get to your side,

Even for a little moment.

I still have so much to share worthwhile.

Secrets are told to those who you feel are safe.

And for those who you feel are not,

You hide and hesitate.

 

Anger is a dangerous feeling.

Makes us say things we don’t really mean.

Thinking with the glass half empty instead of full,

Is not something a smart person would do.

 

 Ever wondered why I did the things I did?

Jump straight to conclusions,

You’ll never arrive at the most accurate reason.

 

I’m afraid of the day

You’ll bring the jury,

And they’ll call me guilty

Even though you never knew the real me.
