ode to the ordinary

 I am the average,

I seek the middle ground.

I stare at the blank page before me.

The goal of peace needs to be found.

 

No castles in the sky.

Or a frog in a well.

I have a steady pace,

As the quiet swan.

 

I am not the main character,

In the shining heed.

I’m not a wrongdoer,

With anger filled in me.

 

I am a soft observer,

A content fish in a sea.

I’ve known no fame,

Or an immoral glee.

 

Forever indebted to my fortune,

With grace and respect in my heart’s hold.

I find my place in the ordinary.

To live a simple life steadily.

I have found my purpose.

To live a life peacefully.
